Hello! I am a Doctoral Candidate in the Communication program at the Annenberg School for Communication at USC where I ask and explore questions about technology, humans, and culture. By examining how emerging technologies reshape everyday life, human interactions, and public spaces, I critically examine the possibilities and consequences of an increasingly datafied world. My work focuses on datafication, surveillance, smart technologies, and automation. As a communication scholar, I find sport and sporting spaces as critical venues to explore topics of data and technology. My current research explores the technologies of smart stadiums and how technologies mediate relationships people and these critical cultural venues.

My academic work can be found in the International Journal of Communication, International Journal of Sport Communication, and Big Data & Society and in the edited volumes, Social Issues in Sport Communication and Social Control and Disorder in Football. I am also an editor of the book, We Are Civic Media. I have presented my scholarly work at the International Communication Association (ICA), Society for the Social Studies of Science, International Association of Communication and Sport, Surveillance Studies Network (SSN), and the Association for Borderlands Studies, among others. 

For this 2026-2027 academic year, I am a recipient of the USC Second Century Annenberg Fellowship. During the 2025-2026 academic year, I was awarded the Haynes Lindley Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship. Prior to my Ph.D., I completed my B.S. in Informatics from Arizona State University.
